All of our golf carts and Mokes are street legal and are registered as a motor vehicle. Drivers must follow all rules and traffic laws. If you are caught not obeying the following rules and restrictions, we will have your cart confiscated and will not refund the remainder of rental.
RULES & INFORMATION
- Self-Pick Up is available. Delivery is available for $100 delivery fee
- All reservations are made online. Before driving to our shop, always place your reservation online. Online inventory is real-time and always 100% accurate. Online reservations are preferred. But if you have a question before you book, shoot us a text or email. Or give us a ring at 941-323-9537.

Self-Pick Up & Drop off is located in front of Beach Bazaar on Siesta Key
5211 Ocean Blvd, Siesta Key FL - Rentals are not allowed on beaches, sidewalks, bike paths, grass or over curbs.
- Rentals Must Stay on the Island you rented from you cannot drive over bridge to mainland.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that your rentals are allowed in the neighborhood where you’re staying. Do not place your reservation with us until you’ve checked with your property manager to ensure your neighborhood or condo area allows carts. If you rent a cart that you’re unable to use due to HOA restrictions, a refund will not be issued if you’re within 10 days of arrival. If you book and then discover it cannot be used where you’re staying, a $50 cancellation fee will be withheld from your refund to offset the losses RIdeAMoke incurred on processing your booking.
- Charging: It is your responsibility to ensure you know how to charge your rental and that you have a place to charge your electric rentals. We will provide you with an extension cord. Ride A Moke is not responsible for charging your rental on multi-day rentals. If you have any questions please call us or refer to the HOW-TO section on this page. Typical 110 outlet needed to charge.
- Electric vehicles are limited on miles you can drive, typically around 25 miles per full charge depending weight, terrain and average speed. It is your responsibility to manage your miles to last during the time needed. We will not provide a new rental for rentals driven over 25 miles prior to your rental time expiring. 5hr or 9hr rentals if you drive more than 25 miles prior to your time your rental will be over when the battery is dead or to low to safely drive. If you need another rental one can be provided for addtional rental fee if available.
- The golf cart will need to be charged overnight daily, and we also encourage you to charge it during the day when not in use. That way the battery is always full and ready for you to enjoy. Carts <50% charged should not be relied upon and need immediate charging. They’ll soon begin to decrease in speed, quickly depleting and going dead. If lights start blinking or you hear a beeping noise, or the speed reduces and no longer going as fast as it once did, its time to get back and charge.
- Charging can take 6-8 hours to fully charge.
- Golf carts are allowed ONLY on posted roads with speed limit of 35mph or less.
- READ THIS: #1 accidents on LSV Golf Carts are from unexperienced drivers taking turns TO-FAST… SLOW DOWN you should be taking turns at around 5mph or less. PLEASE go over this with new drivers. VERY IMPORTANT. #2 taken off with a passenger not ready or still getting on cart. Make sure everyone is ready to go!

Must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license and car insurance to rent a Moke or Golf Cart.
All rentals are subject to 7% sales tax. -
Children under the age of 3 are required to ride in a car seat.
The primary renter and authorized additional renters agree to confirm that all passengers are seated and safely belted in before the vehicle is put into motion. No standing in the cart when in motion or when parked. Children under 3 years old must be secured in a car seat on the golf cart. Lap riding is strictly prohibited. - Children 4 and up must sit in their own seat with a seat belt, booster seat is recommended but not required.
- Children are prohibited to ride on adult’s lap, this is illegal and unsafe.
- Driver and passengers must wear a seat belt at all times.
- The primary renter and authorized additional renters are responsible for maintaining proper weight distribution of their passengers in the cart.
- All our vehicles come fully charged with a 25+ mile range on a single charge. We provide a charger for multi-day rentals. Multi-day rentals must return the vehicle with a full charge for the next customer (Half Day rental fee is charged to credit card on file if under 75%).
- $500 Deposit - Returned at end of rental with no damages, no rules broken, no tickets or fines. Please take before pictures of your rental with your smart phone. Always a good idea before renting anything. (Ripped Seats $400-$800, New Rim/Tire $200, Scratched Rims $50, Broken Tail lights or headlights $69-$100, Radio $500, Heavy Stains $100+, Scratches $150 per 0-1ft., Dents/Body Damage $150-$1000+, Windshield $600, Batteries $275 each, No Smoking lit tobacco)
- Cart brought back dirty - $50 cleaning fee (Garbage, light stains, spilled drinks, heavy sand, etc...) Mokes can be sprayed down inside and out with water hose for quick cleaning!
- $25 late fee - 30min | $50 late fee - 1hr | Half day charge over 1hr late, 1 day rate per day late and 1/4 of deposit, call us if needing more days and we can try to accommodate vs paying a late fee.
- $100 pick up fee if cart is stranded due to a dead battery (user error) or accident.
- Alcohol or Drug use is not permitted on the Moke or golf cart and it is against the law to drink alcohol or use a substance that can affect your ability to drive while driving. If you have open containers on the Moke or golf cart or are under the influence while driving you will immediately loose rental privileges and all monies and deposit for the rental of the Moke or golf cart.
- Only licensed drivers listed and covered by your insurance policy are aloud to drive. Renter is liable for all drivers and damages.
- * The primary renter or authorized additional renters understand that they are prohibited from traveling on any roadways that are not public. Roads must have a posted speed limit of 35mph or less. The LSV cannot be driven over curbs, off road, on beaches, bike paths or sidewalks. The primary renter and authorized additional renters understand and agree that the rented LSV vehicle must be operated adhering to all normal rules of the road.
- * Citations received while the cart was in your possession (ie for parking in handicap spaces, illegal spaces or not paying for paid parking) will be billed to the credit card on file.
- * The primary renter assumes responsibility for any unpaid parking tickets and toll charges in addition to any surcharges that may apply.
- Drivers are prohibited from using cellphones while operating a golf cart.
- Do not place items such as chairs, umbrellas, coolers on the roof of cart.
- You may park your golf cart in any spot a car would park, a lot of places have designated spots just for golf carts which makes it very convenient.
- In case of an accident, contact your primary insurance company to report a claim.
- * What to do in case of an accident:

When conditions and/or regulations permit, move onto shoulder or side of the roadway to prevent further damage or hazards.
Ask someone to summon Police, and medical assistance, if anyone is injured. Repeat after five minutes.
Keep calm. Be courteous. Don’t argue.
Make no statement concerning the accident to anyone except a Police Officer.
Get his/her name and badge number.
MAKE NO SETTLEMENT.
Obtain the names and addresses of witnesses.
Obtain the names and addresses of all persons injured regardless of how minor the injury.
Try to learn where injured are treated.
Do not administer First Aid unless qualified to do so.
Before leaving the accident scene, check to see that you have all the facts.
Call Ride A Moke Rentals to report the incident. An incident report form will be required.

Take photos of any injuries, damages to rental and any other vehicle or property involved and submit them to Ride A Moke by texting them to 941-323-9537. - Any damage to the cart must be immediately reported to us.
- DAMAGES: Any damages to the cart should be reported at the time they occur. Don’t wait until you leave town to let us know $100 inconvenience fee will be charged to card on file if we are not notified or you leave town before telling us plus cost of damages. You may choose to pay for damage that you cause to the cart and without involving your insurance An Incident Report form is required to be filed to document all damages
- DAMAGES DONE BY OTHERS: Park in responsible areas,
- Lost, Stolen or Damaged : Primary Renter Is fully responsible for any loss, damages to vehicle, personal property or injuries to any passenger or person injured by rental incurred during rental.
- Abandoned Rental : Any Rental not returned and left abandoned will result in a $150 fine and $100 transportation fee; Total $250 charged to card on file. If out of bounds off Island and additional $100 will be added.
- Cart keys should never be stored in the ignition or in a cupholder under any circumstance. Keep the key with you at all times. Stolen carts will result in a claim against your personal insurance (not ours). Lost cart keys will result in a $25 fee. If the key is not in the cart lock box upon return, a $25 unreturned cart key charged will be automatically billed to the credit card on file.
- Parking tickets or any other citation will be billed to primary driver.
- At night, headlights must be used.
- The roof of the cart is not designed to hold chairs, coolers or items of any sort. Do not place items on the roof.
- Do not attempt to transport more people on the cart than what it was designed to hold.
- Do not transport rental on a trailer or by another vehicle or golf cart.
- Do rent rental to a third party You are not allowed to rent your rental to anyone.
- Your rental is not a bumper car - If you or any driver is caught bumping another golf cart or vehicle on purpose you will be fined $100 on top of any damages or scratches and lost of rental and your refund for unused time will be $0.
- Do not loose the extension cord - If you loose or forget to return the extension cord a $75 fee will be charged to your card. These are 12g extension cords and are not cheap.
- If you are pulled over for lack of seat belts, erratic or underage driving, driving on a road with a posted speed limit of 40mph (such as US 41 or off the Island) or any related issue, we will confiscate the LSV Rental and you will not be refunded for unused time left on your rental given you were in violation of state law and Ride A Moke policies.
- Battery AGAIN: When your battery meter approaches 50%, be alert and ensure you can make it home. Charge your cart overnight every day. Charge your cart during the day too, if you’re able. These habits will ensure your battery always stays full so the cart performs well whenever you wish to drive it. We are not able to give you another rental if your battery dies before your rental time is over.
- Because your safety is our priority: If you are observed breaking any rules or policies listed here or in the contract, your cart will be confiscated and your refund for unused time will be $0. With any additional fines, fees or cost deducted from deposit or charged to card on file.
RETURNING YOUR RENTAL
Drop off is located in front of Beach Bazaar on Siesta Key
5211 Ocean Blvd, Siesta Key FLAdvice: take images of your rental when you return it, for any claims that could be made. This is always a good idea renting anything.
[Electric Carts Only] Overnight Rentals: Rented prior to 2pm. Cart must be fully charged (75%+) when your reservation ends or a $150 fee will apply. This will be provided to the disappointed family who receives your cart since they’ll be unable to use it.
[Gas Carts Only] Cart must be full of gas when your reservation ends. Fill with 87 unleaded. Carts returned without a full tank will be billed $30. Prepaid Fuel is available for purchase when you book the reservation if you prefer Beach Better handles the gas refill on your behalf.
Rentals must be returned respectfully cleaned: Remove all garbage and clean up any big spills, food or messes and excessive sand. We expect some beach sand in the rental, if enough to pile up and garbage left in rental, you will be charged a cleaning fee.
The primary renter and authorized drivers accept the responsibility for any charges to their credit card for the recovery of a vehicle that was not able to be returned on time. Carts returned late will be billed at the rate of $100 per hour until they are returned.
Failure to return the LSV upon expiration of the rental period and failure to pay all amounts due (including costs for damage to the property or equipment) are prima facie evidence of intent to defraud, punishable in accordance with section 812.155, Florida Statutes.

KEEP IN MIND
Your car insurance is primary or paying cash while you operate our LSVs. Not all car insurance companies cover LSVs, it is your responsibility to ensure you are covered and financially able to cover any cost for loss or damages.
If you cancel within 10 days of your start date, you will not receive a refund.
You will be charged a $50 cancellation fee if you cancel 10+ days before the rental begins, regardless of the reason for cancelling. This helps Ride A Moke recoup some of the credit card processing fees and administrative costs incurred by Ride A Moke when the order was placed.
In cases of severe weather or hurricanes, we reserve the right to pick up our cart from you to store it indoors until the storm passes and it is safe to return the cart. You will be prorated or credited time for your rental for the next available time, during any named storms.
If you’re observed in violation of the law or our agreement and addendum rules, the cart will be repossessed and you will not be eligible for a refund. We do not give warnings.
Instructions and How-To
CHARGING
Moke: Extension cord is located behind back seat in the trunk under black lid.
- – Outlet on Moke is located above the driver side front tire, there is also an LED light battery indicator right next to it.
- (Take a look just above the tire on the side wall)
– Use any standard 110 home outlet to plug the extension cord into.
Do not plug into any outlet that has a large appliance like a refrigerator on it you could pop the breaker.

(Big Red Button, located to the l side of steering wheel)
If you do not pull the red button out it will not charge!
–Charging Could Take 6-8 hours or longer for a completely dead battery
- 2 ways to tell if its charging:
- 1. Next to outlet on the Moke there is an LED light it takes about 20 seconds to come on, if ON you have power BUT make sure RED BUTTON is pulled out still. RED Light 0-60%; ORANGE light 60-80%; GREEN light 100%
2. Pop the hood and see if you hear or see the fan moving, its located behind the driver side headlight silver or black box with a fan on it about a foot wide (Some Chargers will have an LED battery indicator light on top of it, if thats on or fan is moving you have power. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING UNDER THE HOOD just observe. Make sure RED BUTTON is pulled out.
NO POWER
1. Make sure cord is plugged in all the way on rental and on wall.
2. Check and make sure extension cord is not damaged. Try new cord if looks damaged.

3. Check GFI on outlet & try to reset. If you do not know how, ask condo management for help.
4. Check breaker in the house and reset. If you are unsure how to do this call management at your condo and ask for assistance.

MOKE OPERATIONS:
How to Start the Moke: Pull Red Button out on the Left side of the steering wheel. Place key in ignition located on the right side of the steering wheel and turn it all the way over. You will not hear or feel anything because it is electric, it will say ready in the top left corner of the dashboard screen and the bottom right corner the battery level indicator will be pointing up in the green when showing a full charge.
How to turn on the lights: Above the radio you will see 4 buttons, the two on the right are your headlights. Push both of them in to turn on.
How to turn on radio: Top left button on the radio turns it on. If you hit same button two more times you can connect to bluetooth and play your own music.
